Bill Jack's Christmas Conference - On December 27-30, Worldview Academy alumni staff and students will come together for a few days of fellowship and instruction. It's not too late to register. Click here for more information. The cost is $259 per person. Room, board, and all conference fees are included.
December Writing Contest - One way to share God's work in your life is through written communication. This month, we want to hear how God is working in your life amid the Christmas festivities. The greatest gift God gave was his son. He could give nothing greater than Himself. In 1000 words or less, share what God is teaching you this Christmas season. Please submit your entry to shartung@worldview.org by December 31, 2011. The winning submission will be featured online in January 2012.

Bill Jack @ OKWU - On October 5, Bill Jack was a guest speaker for "Worldview Day" on the campus of Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Click here to read more about Bill's visit and OKWU President Dr. Piper's encouraging message about why ideas are directional and why it matters which train you board.
Fall Camp - This is the last chance to register for either Fall Camp Texas or Fall Camp New Mexico. We are looking forward to an exciting two weeks. Please keep the staff, directors, and students in your prayers as they seek God and learn how to engage the culture.

Worldview Academy® Alumni News 09/26/2011

Renew Alumni Events - This fall, we will have 10 Renew Alumni Events across the country in TX, NC, VA, WA (eastern and western), PA, NM, MO, AZ, and CA. We praise God for the ability to host these events, and we pray that that the attendees would be encouraged as they meet with other alumni in their community outside of camp. We have the details for 2 of the 10 events (below). Please check back soon (on this webpage and on the Worldview Academy Official Facebook page) for more information about the other 8 events.

Registration is $10 per student. Dinner and a 5x8 event photo is included in your registration fee. This is Renew, a new series of Worldview Academy events just for you to RE-equip, RE-encourage, and RE-connect you with fellow alumni. Fun. Food. And fellowship. Join us.

Prayer Requests - You may think that Worldview Academy slows down during the school year. This couldn't be further from the truth! In the office, we are busy planning for next summer and getting ready for Fall Camp. Please pray for the Worldview directors as they prepare for Fall Camps in Texas and New Mexico the last two weeks of October. This is an exciting time of the year and we are looking forward to these unique camps, but there is much that still needs to be done before our students arrive on October 16.

Oklahoma Alumni - We are going to be getting together for an evening of fellowship on October 5 in Tulsa, OK. Sarah Hartung from the Worldview Office will be in town for a local event. She and other alumni will be at the Chick-fil-a (211201 E 71st St) from 2-4p. Call Sarah at 800-241-1123, x106 if you are interested in stopping by.

College Credit - If you applied for college credit this summer and earned a 70% or higher on your Worldview Academy final exam, please contact the Registrar's Office at OWKU to request a copy of your college credits. Congratulations to over 110 Worldview alumni who earned college credit this summer! If you are attending either of the Fall Camps in October, it isn't too late to sign up for two free college credits. Visit us online for more information.

Congratulations! - We would like to extend a warm congratulations to our alumni students who qualified as semi-finalists for the National Merit Scholarships. Great job Matt Pinckard, Christina Gould, Lauren Demarest, and David Bastian.

Renew Alumni Events - This alumni event series is returning this fall. Currently, we are finalizing the 2011 fall schedule. The dates and locations will be released on September 26, 2011. Check back soon for more information.

Christmas Conference - This year, Bill Jack is opening up his "alumni" Christmas Conference to your friends and family members who may not have attended a Worldview Academy Leadership Camp before. "It [the conference] helped me understand things I had never even heard of before," an alumni student said after he attended the conference last year. "It also helped me see how lost and twisted our culture has become. I really appreciated the fellowship with other believers there as well. . . . My best friend recently moved to Alaska, so it meant a lot to me to make new friends, and meet kindred spirits." The Christmas Conference will be on December 27-30, 2011 in Denver, CO. Taking the Initiative - The directors in the Worldview Office were very excited to hear from a group of alumni in Illinois who took the initiative and planned their own alumni event. Getting together for an afternoon of evangelism and swimming, these students came together to serve and reconnect after their camp. You can (and should!) do the same. Take the lead and plan an alumni event in your area. This a great opportunity to not only practice leadership, but to serve your fellow alumni students. Be sure to tell the Worldview Office of your plans. They can help you plan and promote your event. Just call the Alumni Coordinator at 800-241-1123, x106.

Radio Worldview Podcast - The newest Radio Worldview Podcast "Are You a Gadget, Part 2" is now available. Just so you know, Radio Worldview archives is temporarily unavailable. We are working on the error and will let you know when the archive is again available. Until, enjoy new posts by Bill and Jeff every 7-10 days.

"Welcome to Camp!" - Miss hearing those words? Come to either Worldview Academy's Fall Camp in Texas (October 16-21, 2011) or New Mexico (October 23-28, 2011) to hear those favored words again. Fall Camp has the same focus as our camps during the summer but with a different feel and some new speakers. Fall Camp Texas gives you a stereotypical "campy" experience with cabins, a lake, and a zip line; while Fall Camp New Mexico offers cool temperatures and beautiful fall leaves in the northern New Mexico mountains. It isn't too late to register. Call the Worldview Office at 800-241-1123 to reserve your spot.

Alumni Facebook Groups - These groups are designed for alumni students to connect, encourage, and challenge other students from their specific camp. These groups are monitored by the Worldview Office and all members are approved by the Worldview directors. Below is a complete listing of the camp groups. Click on the links to join. Worldview Academy® Alumni News 05/24/2011

Prayer Request - This week, the Worldview directors are in Midland, TX at the Worldview Academy office preparing for the summer. Please keep them in your prayers as they sort resources, fold clothing, pack trailers, and prepare for your arrival. May God give them energy and excitement as they anticipate God working in the lives of students this summer.
New Jersey, Connecticut, and Ohio Alumni - If you are an alumni student in these CT OH, or, NJ, Bill Jack and/or Jeff Baldwin is coming to your state homeschool convention in June. If you are interested in helping the faculty out at the Worldview Academy convention booths, please contact Sarah at shartung@worldview.org. Bill Jack will be at TEACH (CT) on June 9-11 and at CHEO (OH) on June 16-18. Jeff Baldwin will be at ENOCH on June 16-19.
Camp Connection - Often times, God's work is very evident at camp but families and alumni don't always hear about God's work from home. Brand new for this year, Worldview Academy will have a "camp journalist" at camp throughout the summer. The purpose is to bring God's work into each family on a daily basis so that you know specifically how to pray for the next camp day and so that you can join us in praise for God's work. This new feature of Worldview Academy – called Camp Connection – will be available here beginning June 5.

Missouri Alumni - join Bill Jack at the Shem Convention in Springfield on May 7-9. If you are going to be at the convention and would like to help Bill as we serves these Missouri homeschool families, email shartung@worldview.org. The Worldview Office is looking for alumni volunteers to help man the Worldview Academy booth.

Mississippi Alumni - Worldview Academy will be represented at the MHEA Convention this year. The Worldview directors would love to see you if you are in town for the weekend, May 14-15. To contact those who will be attending, email shartung@worldview.org.

Earn College Credit - It's not too late to earn two free college credits for the time that you spend at Worldview this summer. You must be going into your junior or senior year of high school, and your paperwork must be completed before you attend camp. For more information, click here.

Radio Worldview Podcast - The newest Radio Worldview Podcast Bill and Jeff Finally Agree on Something is now available .

2011 College Staff Applicants - Please be in prayer for the students applying for the 2011 Worldview Academy College Staff. The deadline for all staff applications is today. Now commences an intense two weeks for the Worldview directors as they interview applicants and make their final decisions. Please pray that God would give the directors wisdom and discernment. Please pray that the applicants would be able to glorify God in how the respond to the directors decisions about where they will be serving this summer.

Bill at Teen Pact Colorado - Our very own Bill Jack will be the guest director for Teen Pact Colorado from February 21-26, 2011. Be praying for Bill as he addresses Teen Pact students.
Radio Worldview Podcast - The newest Radio Worldview Podcast "Only YOU Can Prevent Fires in the Fireplace" is now available online. Select Worldview Academy alumni groups on Facebook will be discussing the newest Worldview Academy podcast at the following times:
Washington alumni – Feb. 20 (Sunday) @ 5:00pm (PST)
Fall Camp Texas alumni – Feb 21 (Monday) @ 4:00 (CST)
North Carolina alumni – Feb 21 (Monday) @ 5:45p (EST)
To join in the conversation, alumni from these camps should join the alumni group for their camp (WA, TX, NC). Set your Facebook chat to online a little before the scheduled time, and a message will appear inviting you to join the conversation. We're looking forward to hearing your thoughts on radical environmentalism and jurisdiction. Listen to the podcast over the weekend and then voice your thoughts! We are accepting Worldview Academy staff applications through March 1, 2011. Prayerfully consider whether or not God would have you serving with Worldview Academy in this capacity this summer. Some things that we wanted to let you know about...

Upcoming Worldview Event in Richmond, VA - Bill Jack will be speaking at Immanuel Baptist Church on February 13, 2011 in Richmond, VA. This event is free and open to the public. Stop by and say hi to Bill. He is always encouraged to meet alumni students.
Student-led alumni events in northern California - Several Worldview alumni students in northern California are trying to organize a few alumni events. If you are interested in playing Frisbee one weekend this spring in the Vallejo area or if you are interested in starting an alumni Bible study in the Burbank area, call Sarah at 800-241-1123, x106 or email shartung@worldview.org. Also call Sarah if you would like help organizing an alumni event in your area of the country.
Evangelism Tools - Several students have called into the Worldview Office asking about the evangelism tools you used this summer at camp. After being out of stock since before Christmas, evangelism tools are once again available. They are $10 for a pack for 20. To place your order, call Cara at 800-241-1123, x107.

Welcome to February! Here in the Midland Office we are enjoying snow. It's not every day we come to work with icicles on the roof, single digit temperatures, and gloved fingers. We're enjoying the change in weather but looking forward to the return on our warm West Texas afternoons. We pray that your families and your homes are safe from this winter storm that is sweeping across the country.
