This year, Oklahoma Wesleyan University will again be offering 2 college credits for Worldview Academy students. Below are the steps you can take to receive this credit for your student's camp experience summer 2012.

  1. Register for a Worldview Academy 2012 camp location
  2. Fill out the Concurrent Application--you will need to check the Worldview box, indicate which camp you will be attending, and mail the Application to OKWU
  3. Submit an original official signed high school transcript. Faxes and email attachments are not acceptable. If you home school, please contact your curriculum provider for a transcript template.
  4. Each student has to pass a competency exam at the end of their camp week to receive college credit.
  5. After 4-6 weeks have passed since your student's camp date, request a transcript at iwantmytranscript.com/okwu. The cost is $5 for the first transcript.

No. All paperwork for college credit must be turned in before your student attends Worldview Academy for that year.

Which colleges/universities accept OKWU credits?
Oklahoma Wesleyan University is fully accredited and their credits will be accepted at any regionally accredited college or University. They were given accreditation in 1978 with the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, so they have been accredited for over 30 years.

What are the two credits my student will receive?

  1. BUSI 1901 Introduction to Servant Leadership: This course provides an introduction to Servant leadership as well as general leadership from a Christian perspective. As in standard leadership courses, Worldview Academy Students will learn fundamental concepts of leadership, visionary leadership, team building, communication, power, and liaison skills. A variety of learning methods will be used including: Textbook reading, Newspaper articles, role playing and other experiential methods are used to promote learning.
  2. PHIL 1901 Introduction to Worldview Philosophy: This course is designed to introduce students to the concept of 'worldview' thinking and analysis by applying principles derived from Christian apologetics and a study of selected philosophical worldviews driven by pluralism and relativism as contrasted and compared with a Christian worldview. It is the thesis of this course that the natural world's existence and order point to the possibility of God; that conviction concerning the reality of God comes from the actual experience of divine grace made possible through the witness of the Bible and believing community. The course includes practicums and small group discussions.

What grade will my student receive for their coursework?
Both one-hour courses are graded as "Satisfactory" and do not affect your student's GPA.

Can my student receive college credit through Worldview multiple years?
Each student can only receive credits from OKWU during one summer that they attend Worldview Academy.
