  • Jeff Baldwin

    CO-FOUNDER
    BOARD MEMBER
    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Jeff Baldwin co-founded Worldview Academy and serves as the research director for that ministry. He also is the acting provost for Worldview at the Abbey, a bridge year program for students who want to be fully equipped to be salt and light on the college campus. His six-volume series The Great Books prepares educators to think biblically about everything from Homer to Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Jeff has published a worldview primer, a worldview devotional, and a collection of essays, poems and short stories entitled The Twelve Trademarks of Great Literature. His most popular book is an introduction to worldviews based on the stories of Frankenstein and Jekyll and Hyde entitled The Deadliest Monster. Jeff ’s articles have appeared in World, Teachers in Focus, and New Attitude, and have been broadcast on Charles Colson’s radio program, Breakpoint. Jeff teaches nation-wide at camps and conferences. Jeff and his wife Linda live in Canon City, Colorado.

  • J. Mark Bertrand

    BOARD MEMBER
    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    J. Mark Bertrand is a novelist, a pastor, and an advocate for better Bible design. He has served on the faculty of Worldview Academy since 2002, and joined the board of directors in 2020. Mark has a BA in English Literature from Union University, an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Houston, and an M.Div. from Heidelberg Theological Seminary. Mark is the author of Rethinking Worldview: Learning to Think, Live, and Speak in This World, published by Crossway in 2007. He is also a prolific author of fiction, including three crime novels — Back on Murder, Pattern of Wounds, and Nothing to Hide. Christianity Today declared them “one of those series that is worth getting attached to,” and The Weekly Standard called Mark “a major crime fiction talent” in the vein of Michael Connelly, Ian Rankin, and Henning Mankell. Through his influential Bible Design Blog, Mark has championed a new generation of readable Bibles. His work was featured in the November 2021 issue of FaithLife’s Bible Study Magazine. Since 2017, Mark has been an ordained teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America. He and his wife Laurie live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

  • Dell Cook

    BOARD PRESIDENT
    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Dell Cook holds two masters degrees (M.Div and ThM) in theology. He has served in several camp ministries around the nation as well as Director of Student Ministries in North Carolina and Florida. He is currently the Headmaster of Sandhills Classical Christian School (SCCS) in Pinehurst, NC. Before taking that position, Dell served as Headmaster at Cary Christian School in Cary, NC where he also taught Theology, Apologetics, Church History, Old & New Testament as well and coached varsity football. Dell, his wife Ginny, and their three children live in North Carolina.

  • Andy Frye

    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Andrew Frye lives in Grants Pass, Oregon with his wife Terry - they have two adult children. He has served the church as a worship leader, elder, and pastoral teacher. He is the department chair for social studies at Grants Pass High School and has been an adjunct professor at Pacific Bible College, Concordia University, and Rogue Community College. Andrew is a James Madison Fellow-Scholar and holds a MA (Liberal Studies) in history and political philosophy from Excelsior College, where he did work at Georgetown University and Oxford University, England, and a B.A. in history from San Diego State University. He enjoys soccer, music, and good coffee.

  • Micah Gibson

    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Micah Gibson has been involved with Worldview Academy since 2005 as a student, Discipleship Staff member, and member of the Faculty of Theology. He graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a bachelor's of arts in history, and has taught at middle school and high school levels in classical schools. Micah joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 2014 and currently serves as faculty at the Worldview at the Abbey bridge year program in Cañon City, Colorado. Micah is married to his beautiful wife Rebekah and has one son, David.

  • August Huckabee

    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    August Huckabee has been involved with Worldview Academy since 2009 from a college staff member to faculty member. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Finance from Texas A&M University, August joined Worldview Academy full-time in 2013. He moved to Cañon City, Colorado in 2014 to be on the founding team of Worldview at the Abbey, and recently earned his Master’s in Business Administration at Boise State University. He currently serves Marketing Director and faculty member for Worldview at the Abbey, where he teaches Economics. August has taught leadership, economics, and holistic worldview thinking since 2014 for Worldview Academy as well as Teenpact Leadership Schools, and he is a outdoor adventure guide and professional singer/songwriter for the country band Westrock when he is not working for Worldview.

  • Bill Jack

    Bill Jack is a co-founder of Worldview Academy and an educator with ten years experience in secular schools and 14 years with The Caleb Campaign, a creationist youth ministry. Bill has spoken to thousands of students and parents around the nation, and he has appeared on various radio, podcast, and television programs. Bill’s passion is to raise up a generation who have the vision to reach their culture with the gospel, who have the valor to engage that culture with the truth, and who rely on the virtue of the Word of God. Bill, a widower, is the father of three grown children and two grandchildren. He lives in Castle Rock, CO.

  • Paul Jordan

    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Paul Jordan is a full time Teaching Pastor at Community Bible Church and a part time professor of Computer Science. Paul’s passion includes teaching God’s word whether from the pulpit or the classroom and watching God transform people. He is the founder and a teacher of Community Bible Institute, where faculty train adults in hermeneutics, apologetics, Biblical studies, Christian theology, and worldview issues. He also enjoys leading tours in Israel, Turkey, Greece, and Rome. Paul and his wife, Vicki, have two grown children and live in Easley, South Carolina.

  • Andrew Morton

    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Andrew’s relationship with Worldview began in 2002 when his life was changed at camp. He attended Worldview Academy several times in the early 2000s, and served as a college staff member for several years starting in 2004. Having earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Grove City College, Andrew is passionate about teaching Christians in all seasons of life how to integrate the life of their mind with that of their faith. He teaches Logic, Philosophy, Apologetics, History, and Mathematics at Covenant Classical School in Concord, North Carolina, where he also serves as Dean of the Upper School. His wife, Elizabeth, and his two children, William and Claire, faithfully sacrifice their summers to travel with Andrew as he teaches with Worldview Academy.

  • Nathan Pegors

    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Nathan Pegors has served with Worldview Academy since 2006 as a discipleship staff member, staff discipleship director, and faculty of theology. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from LeTourneau University and his M.A. in the Humanities from Faulkner University. Nathan teaches at Worldview at the Abbey, an academic bridge year program that seeks to fully equip students to be salt and light on the college campus. He and his wife, Heather, have two children and reside in Cañon City, Colorado.

  • Mike Schutt

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Mike Schutt is the executive director of Worldview Academy, and he has served students as a Worldview Academy faculty member since 2002. Before taking on the executive director role, he served as Clinical Associate Professor at Trinity Law School and Director of the Institute for Christian Legal Studies (ICLS), a cooperative ministry of Trinity Law and Christian Legal Society, where he directed CLS’ Law School Ministries. He also taught on the faculty of Regent Law School for 20 years. Mike’s book, Redeeming Law: Christian Calling and the Legal Profession (InterVarsity Press 2007), is an exhortation to students and lawyers on Christian integrity in the law. He lives in Mount Pleasant, Texas, with his wife, Lisa. They have three grown children and six grandchildren. Before entering academia, Mike practiced law in Fort Worth, Texas. He is an honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law.

  • Arden Skoglund

    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Arden attended Worldview Academy as a student in the early 2000’s and had the best weeks of his life! Since then he has served as Discipleship staff, as well as Staff Discipleship Director. In between his summers with worldview he has played Division I basketball at Valparaiso University, acquired a B.S. in K-12 Music Education, became a published choral composer, runs a private music lesson studio, and is the Minister of Worship at Evangelical Free Church of the Palouse in Pullman, WA. Arden and his wife Mary live in Moscow, ID and enjoy getting outside with their dogs, and spending their summers pouring out their love for students at Worldview.

  • Mike Tiland

    Mike has been a part of the Worldview Academy team since 2006 and has served in a variety of capacities over the years. Currently, Mike serves as the Director of Operations, Camp Director, and Faculty with Worldview Academy. Mike holds a Masters of Divinity degree in Christian Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has a passion for the church and helping to train the next generation of leaders that will live faithfully to the gospel in all areas of life. Mike has taught youth and adults across the country at camps, retreats, conferences, and leadership seminars. He and his wife Angela live in central Texas with their three children.

  • Jay Winslow

    FACULTY OF THEOLOGY

    Jay Winslow has been teaching in public and private schools for over forty years emphasizing worldview and critical thinking skills. He has a B.A. in English and an M.A. in rhetoric and frequently speaks on issues including worldview, education, language and literacy, and the effects of the media on our culture. He has in-serviced educators through groups such as ACSI and the Systems Thinking Network Project. Jay and his wife Regina have three sons and live in Arizona.
